Meet Community Partners — Holy Cross Lutheran Church and the Salem Toy Run

Our schools are part of unique communities that help shape the lives of students and families every day. At Washington Elementary School, this community includes two loyal partners who show up for students year after year.

Holy Cross Lutheran Church and the Salem Toy Run have become trusted sources of care and kindness. Holy Cross has helped Washington Elementary families with food, clothing, school supplies, and holiday gifts. They have also hosted meals for the staff to thank them for their hard work.

In the same spirit, the Salem Toy Run creates a happy tradition for families. They provide gifts, food boxes, and fun activities. Every December, they host a famous motorcycle parade with Santa and Mrs. Claus. This event ensures that families connect with important resources during the holiday season.

Generosity in action

"Both have been stewards of giving and pillars of strength for our students and families over the years. Their commitment to uplifting and supporting our community is truly commendable, and we are honored to recognize them."
Rosalba Diaz-Ruiz, Community School Outreach Coordinator at Washington Elementary School

School staff provide a lot of support for students every day. When community organizations step in to help, families get access to even more aid. By meeting basic needs and building relationships, these partners help ensure students feel supported both inside and outside the classroom.

Holy Cross Lutheran Church and the Salem Toy Run continue to make a real difference. Their dedication reminds us that schools are much stronger when communities come together to support students and families.
